welcome!

this is the musical home of dj kali, one of the aliases i use on line... the others don't really have to be explored at the moment... you can find them easily enough...

this will function as the music adjunct of PARAPHILIA, a new magazine of arts and culture that will be available shortly. that magazine will feature a music section, curated by yours truly, but this blog will also feature additional, related material not available in the published magazine.

the sounds covered will include genres like noise, industrial, power electronics, ambient, experimental, cold wave and others. the basic rule, something that i like to think dictates the music i listen to generally, is that there should be an emphasis on originality, that music is most interesting when it is most challenging or most heartfelt. while i don't claim to be the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes heartfelt sounds, i am enough of a career music nerd that i've developed an ear for things that are a little off the beaten path.

if you think that you have something that deserves to be heard and that fits- more or less- with the aims of this blog and PARAPHILIA, please feel free to contact me about getting your releases reviewed. the broader the range of sounds available, the more interesting it will be, i think.
